In September 2012, Hunter Douglas was pleased to announce the introduction of the Platinum™ App. The App is the 21st century method for consumers to control their PowerRise® 2.1 and PowerGlide® 2.1 motorized window coverings from their mobile Apple® device. While shades can still be controlled with the Platinum remote, wireless wall switch, and other accessories, adding the power of the Platinum App gives customers complete control. This year, Hunter Douglas will be offering a sunrise/sunset mode update to the timer function as well as the much-anticipated RemoteConnect™ feature. RemoteConnect will allow users to operate their Hunter Douglas PowerRise 2.1 and PowerGlide 2.1 systems from nearly anywhere on the planet. Users will set up the system in the home and activate the RemoteConnect feature by creating an account using an e-mail address and password. Once setup, homeowners will be able to operate their shades anywhere they have access to the internet. These features will be included in the free Platinum App update that can be downloaded from the Apple® App Store later this year. This is the perfect way to show your customers the benefits of motorized shades without the additional expense of a home automation system.
